• A substantial population of cave swiftlets has historically been the source of birds nests for birds nest soup, but has decreased recently to near extirpation, due to overharvesting by non-indigenous collectors who have been arriving from the mainland.
• Aguijan and Naftan Rock have been recognised as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by BirdLife International because they support populations of Micronesian megapodes, white-throated ground doves, Mariana fruit doves, Mariana swiftlets, Micronesian myzomelas, rufous fantails, Aguijan reed warblers, golden and Saipan white-eyes, and Micronesian starlings.
• The most common species were grey-rumped swiftlets (Collocalia marginata), white-collared kingfishers (Halcyon chloris), pied trillers (Lalage nigra), black-naped orioles (Oriolus chinensis), Philippine magpie robins (Copsychus saularis), Malaysia fantails (Rhipidura javanica), white-breasted woodswallows (Artamus leucorhynchus), glossy starlings (Aplonis panayensis), yellow-breasted sunbirds (Nectarinia jugularis) and Eurasian tree sparrows (Passer montanus).
• The bushy-crested hornbill (Anorrhinus galeritus), rhinoceros hornbill (Buceros rhinoceros), black-and-yellow broadbill (Eurylaimus ochromalus), and swiftlets are notable birds in the park.
• The site has been identified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area (IBA) because it supports breeding colonies of Mascarene petrels and Audubon's shearwaters, as well as populations of Mascarene swiftlets, Mascarene paradise flycatchers, Réunion bulbuls, Réunion olive white-eyes, Mascarene white-eyes, and Réunion stonechats.

• The site has been identified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area (IBA) because it supports a breeding colony of Audubon's shearwaters (300 breeding pairs) as well as populations of Réunion harriers, Mascarene swiftlets, Mascarene paradise flycatchers, Réunion bulbuls, Mascarene white-eyes, Réunion olive white-eyes and Réunion stonechats.
• The site has been identified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area (IBA) because it supports a breeding colony of Audubon's shearwaters (300 breeding pairs) as well as populations of Mascarene swiftlets, Réunion cuckooshrikes, Mascarene paradise flycatchers, Réunion bulbuls, Mascarene white-eyes, Réunion olive white-eyes and Réunion stonechats.
